540 miles to home. I hit dense fog around St. Louis, the fog that looks like snow clouds. Great ride all the way home. I’m ready, as I miss Brenda, the boys and Molly. I even miss Tucker, Pete and Zoe.

So here’s my run down : On the road for 40 days and 39 nights. 7,575 miles through Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma, and Missouri.

Camped 21 nights, stayed with friends 10 nights and 8 nights at a motel.

Average campsite cost $33.27, cheapest was $7.00, most expensive was $35.31

Average motel cost $92.22, cheapest was $45.29, most expensive was $149.74. When I got sick, I preferred a nicer motel, or I didn’t feel like looking around for a better deal. When I was done, I was done.

I spent on average $29.68 per day on food and miscellaneous Walmart expenses. Which included two air cushions, new camp chair, ice, paper products, etc.

$584.45 gas, which may have included $20.00 to two separate individuals that claimed they needed gas, and one tank of gas at $5.25 per gallon.

Great trip, great time. Would I go again. ABSOLUTELY !!!

Time to hit the road.

Today is my 51st. Birthday. I did everything possible to try and celebrate my 50th. for the entire year. I think I did a really good job.

As I leave Amarillo,  I can’t help but to think of the huge difference between the Cadillac Ranch and the Mustang Ranch. Though they both make reference to automobiles, the two ranches couldn’t be farther apart.

Staying a extra day here at the Comfort Inn. Can’t seem to break my fever. Scratchy throat, stuffed up, head ache.

Part of the reason for my ride is continue to search for the meaning of life, and my unrest with mortality. This afternoon, I received a call that my good friend  Dr. Janelle was killed in a car accident.

Full of life one day, and gone the next.  My thought and prayers go out to her family.

I’m back in Needles. Stayed with Searcy until Monday. Our Sunday kinda sucked, loads of rain and the power went out in the afternoon and didn’t come back on until 5:00a.m.

I went back to Oatman, Az. today and continued through town on route 10, as Mike from Wisconsin recommended it. I also had the best teriyaki chicken sandwich I’ve ever eaten.

Beautiful,  121 curves in 9 miles, no…I didn’t count it. It’s part of route 66. Only 60 degrees today.

Went to the Casino for a buffet breakfast, then checked out some of the sights. Too windy to get the boat out.0228151525a

We are camping over to the left in this picture, Colorado River.

I would love to ride one of those Razors around the desert.

He tries to convince me that the golf cart will do everything a Razor will.
